Week 1: Insanity & Shakeology Fitness Challenge

Woo hoo!  I’ve completed one week of my Insanity & Shakeology Fitness Challenge.  I forgot how tough this workout is!  I don’t care if you run every day, for all my runner friends who don’t cross-train (like me), you’ll definitely feel the burn.  I actually completed all of my workouts and drank Shakeology every day except for one.  I have to say my favorite way to drink Shakeology is to combine it with 6 oz of skim milk, a cup of ice and a tablespoon of peanut butter.  It’s my sweet treat for the day.  The only problem with this is that my daughter loves it as well and I have to share with her.  :)

Meals have been a little difficult for me.  I do all right during the day but at dinner time I want to cook something that has lots of flavor.  My menu plan for last week did a pretty good job.  The spinach-lasagna rolls freeze up well so I’ve been popping them in the microwave for an easy lunch and our dinners have been filling.  Sure I’ve been tempted to go through the McDonald’s drive thru and order a large french fry but I’ve decided once I make it to the 30 day mark, that will be a little reward to myself.  Everything in moderation, right?

I’ve been told by several people that I look like Tonya, one of the girls on the DVD.  Now when they say I look like Tonya, they are ONLY speaking about our faces and more than likely, our facial expressions.  It’s been a long time since I’ve had Botox and I can now furrow my brows with the best of them.  I definitely don’t have Tonya’s abs or arms but I think the one thing Tonya and I probably share is our competitiveness.  I’ve made it my goal to try to keep up with her during the workouts!

So my results for the week: I’ve lost .9 lbs.  Not as much as I’d like but going down is better than going up.  I also shaved 2 minutes off my normal run through the neighborhood…without trying.  Insanity is already making me stronger and I can tell when I’m trying to run up those hills.

  1. It would be cool to see a picture of you and Tonya side by side. This sounds really difficult. Pretty sure I would wimp out. Good for you!

  5. I LOVE my ShakeO! I have two favorite ways to drink my Choco ShakeO! The first is adding chocolate PB2 (powdered peanut butter from Bell Plantation….so yummy, less fat!). My other favorite way is to brew a cup of coffee with my Keurig, cool it down with ice, and then blend away with my Choco ShakeO! Tastes like my very own chocolate mocha blended frappucino from Starbucks!

    • I’ll have to try the PB2. I’ve heard about it but I’ll admit, powdered peanut butter does not sound good to me….lol!
