Three Days in Western North Carolina

There comes a time in every relationship that you have to put your foot down. For me, it was only 6 months into our marriage. After traveling to the west for the majority of our vacations, I decided that we should cross the Mississippi and travel east for our next vacation. My husband is quite the adventurer. He's been on some amazing trips and done some pretty impressive things, but he's always done them in the western part of the US. It took a little bit of convincing but after a few weeks, we … [Read more...]

Kayaking the Buffalo River in Arkansas

Have you ever slept in the back of a Jeep? I have and I'll be the first to admit, it's not the most comfortable experience. I completely blame this trip on my landlord. Yes, it's 100% his fault. 100% his fault that I had great time snowshoeing in Rocky Mountain National Park. I'm going to digress a bit here, so bear with me. Or skip the next couple paragraphs, whichever you prefer. :) After I moved back to Wichita, I met a boy or a guy, or whatever you want to call him. We both share a love for the outdoors, though his love for it is a bit more extreme than mine. For me, outdoor activities are more fun when the … [Read more...]

groOrganic Gardening Planner Review & Giveaway

Last year I tried to be Miss Greenthumbs and it backfired on me in such a big way.  First, my plant beds became infested with poison ivy.  Of course, I'm highly allergic to all things weedy.  A couple of trips to the dermatologist for steroids and I was somewhat better.  Second, that damn bird.  I have no idea what kind it was.  All I know is that it loved tomatoes.  All excited to see a red, plump tomato on the vine, I would go to pick it and find a huge hole!  Talk about eating like a bird.  … [Read more...]
