Once upon a time there was a middle-age mom who thought she knew a lot about the various Disney Princesses. This mom grew up with classic movies such as Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty. She watched them as a child and adored them. As she got older, her interests changed. Instead of playing princesses, she started playing softball and watching sports. Many, many years later she had a daughter who also loved Disney movies and thought she knew a lot about the Disney Princesses.

One day, her daughter said her favorite Disney Princess was Aurora. The middle-aged mom looked at her daughter with confusion and tried correcting her child. “There isn’t a princess named Aurora,” she said, “you must be confused.” The daughter looked at her mother with the same confused look and said, “Mommmmm, Aurora is from Sleeping Beauty.” At that point the middle-aged mom admitted she never knew (or remembered, after all, she is middle-aged and a mom) that Sleeping Beauty’s name was Aurora. The end.

Sleeping Beauty DVD

Actually, that wasn’t the end but how that conversation ended is a story for another day. What is more important is the Sleeping Beauty DVD is being released from the Disney Vault on October 7th. And what’s even better is that your little one can dress up at their favorite Disney Princess and attend the Disney Princess event at Walmart on October 11, 2014 from 10 am – 4 pm.  There will be fun Disney Princess coloring and activity sheets, your little princess can take a photo with a cardboard Sleeping Beauty and it wouldn’t be a party without some Disney Princess cupcakes! My daughter and I will be there all dressed up in our princess gear (follow #DisneyBeauties to see what princesses we’re going as).

Not only is there a cool Disney Princess event, there are also some great savings so you can host your own princess event. American Greetings will be offering $3 off any American Greetings purchase with a $10 purchase of Disney-themed party goods (at participating stores).

Who is your child’s favorite princess?
