Show How Much She Means To You With Flowers

Our moms teach us many things growing up.  They teach us how to not be afraid, how to be empathetic and that no matter what we do, they love us and will always be there.  As Mother’s Day is quickly approaching, I’ve been thinking about the best way to show my mom how much I appreciate everything that she did for me growing up.  This year I plan on showing her how much I appreciate her in many ways and one of those ways is by sending her some beautiful Spring flowers.

This year has been particularly difficult for my mom.  After dealing with numbness and pain in her leg for years, she was diagnosed with peripheral artery disease (PAD) a few months ago.  What we thought would be an “easy” outpatient procedure to fix the blockage turned into her physicians finding out how serious her condition was and discontinuing the procedure only to schedule bypass surgery.  Now she’s faced with a riskier surgery and a much longer recovery time.

There is a reason why flowers are usually the gift of choice (besides smuggled food) when a friend or family member is in the hospital and needs a little pick-me-up.  Flowers instantly lift our spirits, brighten our mood and give us something beautiful to look at.  They are a visual reminder that someone out there cares about us.  Telaflora makes it easy for me to send flowers online.  Because of their reputation and quality, I don’t have to worry about the product being delivered late nor do I have to worry that the flowers won’t look their best.  The best thing about Telaflora is I can shop online at time of the day (or night)!  They have 24-hour customer support which is perfect for the night-owl.  They have so many beautiful options, it is hard to pick just one.  Here is another of my favorites.

So this year while my mom is spending her Mother’s Day recovering from major surgery, she’ll have a beautiful bouquet of flowers to remind her how much we love her and to lift her spirits.  I can’t always be there when I want but at least I can let her know how much I care.

  1. I love sending flowers. We have an aunt who does not have kids and we sent her flowers for Easter and she was so happy. Thanks for sharing this post, it is a great reminder at how you can really brighten someone’s day pretty easily.

  2. Flowers are a nice gift for us moms who aren’t green thumbs as we don’t have flowers around us normally since we would just kill them ha!

  3. I wish your Mom all the best. My Mother and Father have both had leg surgeries, and they are not fun. Flowers are always a good pick me up!!

  10. Those are gorgeous!!!

  11. I love sending someone flowers, although I usually prefer it being just because instead of a holiday or occasion. Flowers are lovely and really brighten a room, just like you mentioned. Sometimes I do get frustrated with how expensive they are, but I do understand that it takes a lot to get a perfectly in bloom flower arrangement to a house on the right date. It seems strange to me that so many of the arrangements look so similar, especially with the huge variety of plants and flowers out there. Do flower shops make specialized bouquets anymore?
