My First Concert

I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting (#MC) for Sprint. I received a product sample to facilitate my review and to thank me for participating.

In the summer of 1989 I was 14 years old, working as a nanny in the Northwest Chicago suburbs. Some crazy family made the decision that me, the kid who had really only babysat once or twice in my life, should move into their home for the summer and take care of their children. As I look back on it, I didn’t really make much money (even for 1989 standards) but what I did come back home with was several experiences that I’ll never forget and one of those was attending my first concert.

Now some of my friends have really awesome stories about their first concert. Some have seen classic bands like the Grateful Dead or the Rolling Stones (yes, many of my friends are OLD) but none of them can compare to my first concert: New Kids on the Block with wait for it….Tiffany.

Now you’re either laughing hysterically at my first concert OR you’re thinking back to the day that you were trying to decide if you like Jordan or Jonathan Knight better. I personally was a fan of Joey McIntyre. I may or may not have a few NKOTB songs to my Spotify account. You’ll just have to check out my playlist for verification. 🙂

HTC One (M8) Harman/Kardon Edition

I’ve been using Spotify on my new HTC  One (M8) Harman/Kardon  edition smartphone from Sprint to listen to some of my favorite artists.  As a previous Pandora user, I’m completely hooked on Spotify. I love that I can add the songs I want to my play list. And as a part of Sprint’s new Sprint Sound Sessions, Sprint is giving customers access to Spotify’s catalogue of more than 20 million songs. Any song I want to hear is right at my fingertips and I can listen to it on demand.

The HTC One (M8) Harman/Kardon edition phone is definitely a phone for music lovers. It has a better speaker than my iPhone 5 (shhhh, don’t tell Apple) and I find that I’ve been listening to music more because the sound quality is better. I’ve never been someone who runs with music but the other night I tried it and it was a completely different experience. It was probably a combination of having the right earbuds, the right music and definitely a good sound quality.

The camera options on this phone are pretty cool too. For all you self-loving people, there is a selfie option as well as a dual screen capture. I’m trying to figure out what I would use the dual screen option for and so far, I’m drawing a blank but I still think it’s a neat feature. The picture quality is decent and with a big 5″ screen, it seems easier to take better pictures.

So as I sit here thinking about my first concert, I’m listening to my favorite New Kids on the Block song. Can you guess what it is?

What was your first concert?

Sounds like you need to show me how to use the Sprint Sound Sessions on my phone! 🙂
