A few weeks ago my husband and I saw this really, really bad movie with Owen Wilson (I’ll let you Google it and figure the name out).  It was so bad that my eyes kept wandering around the theater, eventually finding a clock and counting down the minutes until it was over. The only good that came out of the movie were the previews. A couple of movies looked interesting and then a preview we both got excited about came on, Bridge of Spies.

Bridge of Spies stars Tom Hanks and was directed by Steven Spielberg. Personally I think that’s all I should have to tell you about the movie to get you to go and see it, but I get it, you want more information.

A dramatic thriller set against the backdrop of a series of historic events, “Bridge of Spies” tells the story of James Donovan (Hanks), a Brooklyn lawyer who finds himself thrust into the center of the Cold War when the CIA sends him on the near-impossible task to negotiate the release of a captured American U-2 pilot. Screenwriters Matt Charman and Ethan Coen and Joel Coen have woven this remarkable experience in Donovan’s life into a story inspired by true events that captures the essense of a man who risked everything and vividly brings his personal journey to life.

So you’ve got Tom Hanks, Steven Spielberg and the Coen Brothers, which seems to be a recipe for a successful movie, which opens in theaters everywhere on October 16th. It would make a great date night movie or, if you’re feeling like breaking the rules, one of those movies where you skip out of work on a Friday afternoon, buy a big tub of popcorn with butter and watch the movie by yourself. :)

What is the last movie you saw in a theater?
